A community blog is located here. Please let me know if you would like to contribute a post!
My goal for this website is for it to be a companion website for my long-form math textbooks. On the pages for my books, you can find papers and videos to dive deeper into the material. I also have hints for many of the exercises from the books, and am working on solutions for some exercises.
The website also has a blog (with very few posts, as of now). The goal is for that blog to be community-supported.
Please send me any thoughts you have for how to make this site better. What else should I include? What could I do better? Thanks in advance!
Please email all suggestions to LongFormMath@gmail.com or complete the Contact form at the bottom of this page.
You can also follow me on Twitter @LongFormMath. I tweet mostly about math, including things that I find funny. I will also tweet about any updates to this website or news about future books.
I have self-published my textbooks to keep costs low. A big publisher asked to publish them, but insisted on charging $85 per copy. By self-publishing I can sell them for under $25. The one downside is that nobody promotes my books... except for my lovely readers.
If you liked my books and want to help to promote low-cost math textbooks, please leave a rating and/or review of them on their Amazon page. It goes a long ways to helping others discover the books.
Thank you!
It is expensive to print long textbooks, but we endeavor to keep prices as low as possible for cash-strapped students. If you would like to chip in to allow lower costs for these students, you can do so on our Patreon page here. The money raised will only be used to lower the cost of the textbooks---not to increase our own income. Note: We do prefer a small monthly donation to a larger one-time donation, as it better allows us to factor the donations into our pricing. Even a couple bucks a month is a great help!
My dream would be to receive a grant that allows me to sell each book at a significant loss, where the grant picks up the difference... but until then I will simply ask for the support of a generous public.
Thank you for your support!
